1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MailLighter Outlook add-in (the "Add-in") and the maillighter.com website. By installing the Add-in or using the website, you agree to these Terms.
2. The publisher
The Add-in and website are published by MailLighter. Contact: contact@maillighter.com.
3. License to use the Add-in
The Add-in is provided free of charge under the MIT License for the open-source portion published at github.com/MailLighter/MailLighter. You are granted a non-exclusive, worldwide right to install, use, and (for the open-source portion) modify and redistribute the Add-in.
You may not:
- Misrepresent MailLighter as your own product
- Remove copyright notices from the source code
- Use the MailLighter name or logo for commercial purposes without prior written authorization
4. Acceptable use
The Add-in is intended to clean emails before sending. You agree not to:
- Use the Add-in for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Add-in beyond what is permitted by the open-source license
- Use the Add-in to violate the privacy or rights of others
5. No warranty
The Add-in is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MailLighter disclaims all warranties, express or implied. The use of the Add-in is at your own risk.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MailLighter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities, arising from the use or inability to use the Add-in.
7. Privacy
Your privacy matters. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms occasionally. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Add-in after such changes constitutes your acceptance.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent French courts.
10. MailLighter Enterprise (upcoming)
MailLighter Enterprise, planned for Q4 2026, will be subject to specific commercial terms accessible at the time of subscription. The current Terms apply only to the free Add-in distributed via Microsoft Marketplace.
